Excellent health care is a priority in Gothenburg. The Gothenburg Health medical clinic offers inpatient, outpatient services. Adult and pediatric inpatient care, emergency room and helicopter transport, maternity, nursery care, Lamaze classes, surgery (including “same day” surgery), laboratory, radiology, physical, occupational and speech therapy, cardiac rehabilitation, diabetic education and wellness programs, sleep studies, hospice and home health services are available to residents in the 536 square mile Gothenburg Hospital District. Support services are provided by consulting medical and dental staff including oncology, orthopedics, pathology, radiology, ophthalmology, obstetrics, urology, pulmonology, oral surgery, cardiology and orthodontia. A variety of diagnostic procedures are available: CAT scan, stress and nuclear testing, mammography, ultrasound, and a number of laparoscopic type services.

The existing building was built in 1969 with additions and renovations in 2004, 2011 and 2018 that include a physician's clinic, state-of-the-art surgical unit, patient wing, advanced imaging and medically integrated YMCA. In 2024, construction updated the emergency department, surgery center, chemo room and lactation room. Gothenburg Health is a non-profit healthcare facility governed by a publicly elected board of directors. Gothenburg Health believes strongly in the philosophy of investing in the future and preparing for the future with progressive technology aimed to provide patients with the healthcare services they deserve while protecting the future viability of our hospital. 308.537.5015 • 619 10th Street Visit Website Kristen Rickertsen is an advanced practice registered nurse certified in family practice. She was raised in Gothenburg, Nebraska. She graduated from University of Kearney/UNMC College of Nursing with her bachelors of science in nursing. She worked for several years as a registered nurse. She attended University of Nebraska Medical Center 2006-2009 to complete the family nurse practitioner master's program. Her education and experience provides the foundation to provide exceptional care for all ages for Gothenburg and the surrounding communities. Dr. Austin Fletcher, a local from Maxwell, Nebraska, attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney, then transferred to Logan College of Chiropractic, which he graduated from in December 2016. Dr. Fletcher has been recognized as the world's youngest quantum neurology certified practitioner, which has given him exceptional experience in treating patients with a wide variety of conditions. He has a large collection of different techniques he uses in the office when treating his patients including: diversified adjusting; Logan basic technique; Webster technique; sacrooccipital technique; quantum neurology; GRT light therapy; applied kinesiology; and essential oil therapy. Dr. Fletcher has traveled to many different places across the map and has had the honor and privilege of healing those that he has come in contact with. He has had successful experience in rehabilitating stroke patients from their motor and sensory loss, patients with the acute and chronic infections, and excels in treating general injuries from sports and everyday life. |
YMCA at Gothenburg Health
308.537.4022 • 910 20th Street, Visit Website The YMCA at Gothenburg Health makes Gothenburg just the 18th community in all of Nebraska to have a YMCA. The YMCA building is connected to the hospital and features a 4-lane pool, high-school regulation gymnasium, second-floor walking track, cardio and weightlifting area, plus a large group fitness room. This innovative facility opened in April 2018.
