Most homes close to the downtown district and along Lake Avenue (one of the most beautiful “Main Streets” in Nebraska) are 70+ years old. The growth in Gothenburg has been to the north and northeast. For those interested in “loft-style” living in a downtown environment, buildings downtown are sometimes available for sale which would be suitable for renovating into single-family homes.
